Shirley A. Paquin of Bradenton, Florida was called to Heaven on September 12, 2016. She was 77. Born in Loris, South Carolina on February 26, 1939, the former Shirley Anne Edwards was preceeded in death by Otto H. Edwards and Annie (Porter) Edwards, her parents.

 

Shirley graduated ('57) from Cradock High School in Portsmouth, Virginia. She moved to Florida in 1959, met the love of her life, Warren A. Paquin, Sr., in Homestead, married September 16, 1961 and worked as a banker until retiring in 1998. In 2000, Shirley and Warren moved to Bradenton and became members of the Bible Baptist Church.

 

Blessed with a lung transplant at Tampa General in February 2005, she enjoyed 11+ more years of life during which she mentored transplant patients.

 

In addition to Warren, Shirley is survived by 3 children: Dr. Warren A. Paquin, Jr. (Lori) and Lisa R. Paquin of Bradenton, and Richard H. Lippson (Peggy) of Midlothian, Virginia; grandchildren Allen, Lucas and Danielle Paquin; a brother, Jack Edwards of Miami; a sister, Melba Edwards Jones (Lyndall "Scrap") of Portsmouth, Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas D. Edwards (Fran) and sister, Barbara Edwards Joy.

 

A Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, Sept. 30th at the Bible Baptist Church, 2113 57th St. E., Bradenton, FL 34208. Visitation at 10:00 - Service at 11:00 am.
