CHESAPEAKE -- Fred ``Pat'' Foster III, 63, of the 1100 block of St. Julian Drive, died Aug. 18, 2002, in a local hospital, following a motorcycle accident.

Pat was born in Richmond Virginia to the late Fred Fleming Foster Jr. and Maude Dansey Foster. He was Episcopalian and had retired from Columbia Gas Company.

He was survived by his wife, Sandra Reaves Foster; a daughter, Robyn Queen and her husband Michael of Chesapeake; a son, Ryan Reaves Foster and his wife Shannon of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, ``Dadoo's boat buddies,'' Victoria, Sterling and Sabryn Foster, and Brenden Queen; a sister, Beverly Foster Wright and her husband Edward of Chesapeake; a sister-in-law, Sue King and her husband Norwood of Portsmouth; and his mother-in-law, Lila W. Reaves of Portsmouth.

Fred was killed while riding his beloved motorcycle. Biking was a lifelong devotion for him. Bikers from around the Hampton Roads Community attended his funeral.

A memorial service attended by hundreds was held at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, by Walter H. Brueggeman Jr.
