SUFFOLK - Charlotte B. Fedro, 75, passed away at her home, surrounded by friends and family after a valiant battle against Lou Gherig's disease. Born in Wendell, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John and Cula Boykin. She was a graduate of Cradock High School and dedicated employee of WAVY TV-10 for 35 years. She was predeceased by a grandson, David John Christenbury; and brothers, Lester, Carson and Jimmy Boykin. She is survived by her loving husband, Roger; her daughter, Pamela and husband Mark, her daughter, Stephanie and husband Brad; her granddaughter, Brooke and husband Ben; her grandson, Greyson; and granddaughter Ally, her granddaughter, Ann Marie; her great-grandsons, Solomon and Calem Jenkins; her sisters, Kathleen Hinnant and Mae Breslauer; her brother, Jay Boykin and wife Silene; Reginald Fedro and wife Cindi; a very special friend, David Rogers and his family; and her many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would like to give a special, loving thank you to Lou, Terri, Goldie, Nancy and Verlin, the team of physical therapists and staff at Sentara Belle Harbour, and physicians and staff at the Riverside ALS Clinic, who cared so gently and compassionately for Charlotte during her battle with ALS, and our heartfelt gratitude to all of our family and friends who have provided so much love and support during such a difficult time. Charlotte will be remembered as a true Southern woman who, until the very end, put others before herself and who cherished her family and friends above all else. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, at Loving Funeral Home located at 3225 Academy Ave., Portsmouth. Visitation will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. directly followed by the service. Donations may be made to the ALS Association DC/MD/VA chapter.
