Portsmouth - Earl Stegall, Jr. 78, was an native of Copiah County, Mississippi and joined the Lord on August 28, 2014.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents Loyce and Earl Stegall; his wife of 54 years Patricia Ann Bethel Stegall and his granddaughter, Ashley Nicole. He is survived by his daughters, Candi Mansfield, Cindi Stegall, Sherri Kirby, Sandi Loria and their families. Earl has 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He also has three surviving brothers, Luther, Clarence and Daniel and their families.

Earl retired from the Portsmouth Police Dept. as a Sargent in 1987. He was a member of Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge, Portsmouth #100 and was a Past Master of Mid Day Masonic Lodge. He was an avid Fisherman and belonged to the Bass Masters Club. Earl volunteered with the Red Cross as a driver for the blood drives.

A memorial service with Masonic Rites will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday in Loving Funeral Home Churchland Chapel. The family will receive friends at Candi's home from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Online condolences may be made at www.lovingfuneralhome.com.
