CHESAPEAKE - Oscar Talmadge Gerald, 68, of the 2900 block of Tyre Neck Road, died Nov. 14, 2003, in his residence. A native of Richmond County, N.C., he retired as a dispatcher from Hennis Freight Lines and served in the National Guard. Survivors include his parents, Ellis A. Gerald and Emma V. Gerald of Portsmouth; his wife, Jessie "Joy" Gerald; three daughters, Marlene Q. Bohanon of Portsmouth, Teresa A. Larson of Norfolk and Patricia C. Kuhn and husband Edward of Dickson, Tenn.; three sons, Deryl "Bubba" T. Quidley Jr. and wife Lizzie of Portsmouth, Michael L. Gerald of Enon, Ohio and David A. Gerald of Chesapeake; two sisters, Rosanna H. Beasley and husband Dale of Knotts Island, N.C., and Carolyn G. Collins of Chesapeake; six grandchildren, Amanda Gerald, Shane Quidley, Justin and Matt Bohanon and Lane and Logan Kuhn. He was predeceased by a son, Larry D. Gerald. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Vickie Seibert. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Portsmouth Boulevard chapel, Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
