Deceased Name: Services set for Sylvia Boughnou, 62, retired Richardson teacher, counselor

Funeral services for Sylvia Boughnou, a retired Richardson teacher, will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Restland Funeral Home's Wildwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park.

 

Mrs. Boughnou passed away Sunday at her home in Richardson. She was 62.

 

An English teacher and department head for ten years at Northwood Junior High, Mrs. Boughnou later served as a career and guidance counselor at J.J. Pearce High School.

 

"She never did anything for herself but always for other people," said her daughter, Karen Boughnou of Flower Mound. "She wanted every student to have the chance to succeed."

 

Mrs. Boughnou retired from the Richardson school district about four or five years ago, her daughter said.

 

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her husband, Russ Boughnou of Richardson; sons Tom Boughnou, Steve Boughnou and Kenny Boughnou, all of Richardson; mother Gertrude Crisp of Portsmouth, Va.; brothers Bill Crisp of Atlanta, Ga., Joe Crisp of Fort Myers, Fla. and Bob Crisp; sister Katherine Sue Koontz of Merritt Island, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
