James Houston Woods, 58, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 1994, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Woods, a native of Laurens, S.C., was a resident of Navarre since 1984. He was a Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Korean War, and was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eliane Christine Woods of Navarre; six children, Ricky Woods of New Orleans, Ruthie Woods Fusco of South Carolina, Rebecca Woods of Panama, Laura Lee Woods Wells and Carolyn Marie Woods, both of Portsmouth, Va.;, and Sandra Woods Crosby of California; one brother, Homer Julius Woods of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Marie O. Snyder of Portsmouth and Mary Ann Voliva of Elizabeth City, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Holly Woods, Mike Woods Jr. and Paul Woods, all of New Orleans.

A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Sylvester Catholic Church by Father O'Connor, pastor of St. Sylvester Catholic Church. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.
