PORTSMOUTH - Furnifold Pritchard "Phil" Phillips, 76, passed away in his home April 13, 2007. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years and served two tours in Vietnam. He also retired as a machinist from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Phil was a member of Westside Christian Church in Portsmouth, the Washington-Lafayette Masonic Lodge No. 176, the Portsmouth Scottish Rite and the Moose Lodge No. 199.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora Phillips; three children, Donald Phillips, Robert Phillips and wife Sandy and Michael Phillips; six stepchildren, Dan Shelton and companion Karon, Jerry Shelton and wife Donna, Sherry Shelton, Dave Shelton, Marilyn Shelton and Lori Harrison; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Westside Christian Church, 535 Cherokee Road, Portsmouth, VA 23704, Tuesday, April 24 at 11 a.m. with lunch to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Fun Tours, 520 Newtown Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 or to the Westside Christian Church Building Fund.
