Mary E. Watson Johnston, 89, of Greenville, passed away due to a
three year illness on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at her home. Mary was
born January 11, 1926 in Portsmouth, VA, to the late Oscar and
Vergie Watson. Due to the early death of her mother and father, Mary
was raised by her grandparents who raised 17 children, plus Mary and
her four siblings, making a total of 22 children in the one
household. Mary was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her husband,
Dr. Earl F. Johnston (formerly of the Greer Chiropractic Center);
her son, John E. Johnston, and wife Brenda; daughter, Penny
Johnston; grandson, Trevor Johnston; and Mitchell Ward and his wife
Kirby. Also survived are Mary's siblings, Reverend Tommy Watson, and
his wife, Molly; and sister Rose Brown; her niece, Debbi, and her
husband Danny. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape
Hospice. |
