Ina G. Green NORFOLK - Ina Mae Goldberg Green, 82, died June 4, 2008, in Westminster Canterbury, Virginia Beach.

Mrs. Green served from 1999 until 2001 as the president of the Residents Council at Westminster Canterbury. She was a member of Ohef Sholom Temple in Norfolk. Mrs. Green was at one time a wood carver and a sculptor. Born in Chicago Aug. 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Rose Cooper Goldberg and Hyman Goldberg. She moved to Norfolk with her parents in 1926 and to Portsmouth in 1928. She attended Green Street and Briggs Elementary schools in Portsmouth prior to attending school in Craddock. She was valedictorian of the Class of 1942 at Craddock High School. She attended Westhampton College and Iowa University. Mrs. Green formerly was a professional model of clothes in New York City. Later while living in Palm Beach, Fla., she served as a personal secretary to Lilly Javits, the wife of Senator Jacob Javits.

Survivors include her brother, Dr. Joe B. Goldberg of Westminster Canterbury; her daughter, Stacy Dichiocho of Narberth, Pa.; her son, Clay Green of Billings, Mont.; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews, many cousins and her special cousin, Charlotte Corey.

Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Westminster Canterbury Foundation, 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. The family thanks all the people at Westminster Canterbury who helped her so much during her illness. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
