CHESAPEAKE - Claribel Willey Johnson, 87, former resident of Deep Creek, went to be with the Lord Nov. 15, 2005, in Lillian’s Loving Care, Portsmouth. A native of Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late F.L. Willey and Myrtle Hillard Willey and was also predeceased by two brothers, Hillard and Leroy Willey. The widow of Dennis S. Johnson, she retired as the owner of Claribel’s Beauty Salon in Highland Park. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Brent-Lox Baptist Church and a charter member of Highland Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula J. Dodd and husband George of Virginia Beach; a son, Dennis Ervin Johnson and wife Dianne of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Mac, Cindy and husband Kenny, Bryan and wife Shannon and Chris and Kevin; and six great-grandchildren, Jake, Mattison, Bailey, Noah, Kenny Ryan and Hunter.

A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Highland Baptist Church by Dr. Hal Hostetler. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brent-Lox Baptist, Highland Baptist or the Alzheimer’s Association.
