Milton L. Drewer, Jr. died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, of Arlington, VA. Milt was born and raised in Saxis, VA, graduated from Randolph Macon College and received his masters degree from the University of Virginia.

Milt was head football coach and athletic director at the College of William & Mary from 1957 to 1963 before moving his family to Arlington. His banking career spanned several decades, culminating in his position as President and CEO of First American Bank of Virginia.  

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Susie" Drewer; and a son, William (Sharon) Drewer of Arlington, VA.

 Survivors include his companion, Liz Hopwood of Arlington, VA; sons, Milton L. (Ellie) Drewer, III of Bluffton, SC and Alan (Lora) Drewer of Oak Hill VA; and daughter, Carol Mortensen of Wilmington, NC. Milt is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Walker Chapel United Methodist Church, 4102 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Milt's name to the William & Mary Tribe Club www.wm.edu/giving/designate/tribe or Tribe Club-Football, P.O. Box 399, Williamsburg, VA 23187. Because William & Mary Athletics receives no state money, support is essential to student athletes by funding athletic scholarships and athletic facilities.
